PASSIONATE ABOUT GUNDOGS

Having worked under one of the most renowned gundog trainers in the country for 5 years, I decided that it was time to make my own mark on the industry. I have been working, training and competing with gundogs since 2015 and I am an accredited Gundog Club Instructor, as well as holding a judging certificate for retriever field trials. In addition to my extensive practical experience training and handling gun dogs, I also hold a Level 3 Extended Diploma in Animal Management, with a distinction in Canine Training and Behaviour. 

 

I describe my training approach as being kind, fair and effective. I have plenty of experience in the field, working on shoots for the past 6 years, alongside stewarding field trials. I have won novice tests with a Golden Retriever I ran in 2018, who also went on to win awards in open tests.

 

My area of expertise lies with retrievers and spaniels – I currently work and train Labradors, Golden Retrievers and Spaniels.

When training with me you can expect to learn how to use reward based methods to achieve life-lasting skills and a positive relationship with your dog. This includes using treats, toys and clickers effectively. I believe the cornerstone of success is that both the dog and handler enjoy their training time together, and it is something you both want to do!

I focus on training people and dogs that would like to do some gundog style training, or work towards taking the Gundog Grades. I also train people looking to have their dogs working with them in the field (beating or picking up) or those aiming to compete with their dogs in tests or trials. I offer a mixture of 121 sessions and group classes, with the benefit of high quality training facilities in  Cumbria, Lancashire and Cheshire.
